In replication-manager 2.1 >, backups can be archive and purge via interaction with the Restic binaries (need pre install) that interconnect to an s3 protocol bucket, Restic enable block level encryption & deduplication and will store the entire backup directory for mixing multiple files backups like mydumper.
When backup are executed they are stored compressed under the replication-manager datadir
<data_directory>/backups/<cluster_name>/<server_name>_<server_port>.
The can be used to provision new nodes or restore broken slaves,
But long archiving may be required. A full restic integration is used for this.
